Candle Care
First use.
For the first use, burn the candle for a minimum of 2 or 3 hours. Ensure that the wax is liquid over the entire surface. It’s best to light your candle using matches or a barbeque lighter.
Burn time.
The burn time of the 180g candle is approximately 45 - 50 hours.
It mainly depends on how the candle will be used. It is important to respect the conditions of using candles.
Burning.
Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours. This allows the glass to cool down and prevents the wick from becoming too long and having debris fall into the wax. If you want to keep using it after 4 hours, extinguish the candle, cut the wick short and light it again.
Trim the wick.
Trim the wick to 5mm before each use. This minimizes high flames, soot and black smoke emissions. A wick that is too long leads to faster consumption of the wax.
Black smoke.
The end of the wick can form small balls during burning. Cut the wick before using your candle again. This will help avoid the release of black
smoke.
Drifting wick.
To prevent the wick from drifting. Do not blow out the flame but extinguish your candle with a candle snuffer or by closing it with a lid.
Moving the wick.
If the wick moves, gently move it back to the center of the candle. You can use the back of a spoon or tweezers to do this.
Protect your candle.
To protect your candle from dirt, dust and debris, which can cause black smoke and unwanted odours, store your candle in the dust box it came in, or cover it with a lid.
